M&A Lead — Acquisition of The Internship Guy

Compensation: 30% success fee on completed acquisition value

Target acquisition value: SGD 300,000+

Engagement: Success-fee / transaction-based

About the Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced M&A professional with at least 1 year of experience to identify and secure an acquirer for The Internship Guy, an established career media platform with 50,000+ newsletter subscribers and 30 corporate partners.

The ideal candidate will have direct experience in M&A, corporate development, investment banking, sell-side advisory, or business acquisitions and an existing network of potential strategic buyers.

Responsibilities

- Develop and execute a targeted buyer strategy.

- Identify and approach qualified strategic and financial acquirers.

- Leverage existing M&A and corporate networks to generate buyer interest.

- Manage initial discussions, information sharing, and negotiations.

- Help drive the transaction from buyer outreach through LOI and closing.

- Maximize the final acquisition value.

Potential buyers may include companies in education, recruitment, HR technology, career platforms, media, talent, and professional services, among others.

Requirements

Essential:

- Proven professional experience in M&A, investment banking, corporate development, or sell-side advisory.

- Demonstrable experience sourcing, negotiating, or closing business acquisitions or transactions.

- Strong network of corporate decision-makers, investors, founders, or strategic buyers.

- Excellent negotiation, commercial judgment, and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and drive a transaction through to completion.

Experience selling or acquiring media, newsletters, digital businesses, education, recruitment, or other audience-driven businesses is a strong advantage.

Compensation

The successful candidate will receive 30% of the acquisition value upon completion of a transaction that they have sourced and materially facilitated.

For example:

- SGD 300K acquisition → SGD 90K success fee

- SGD 500K acquisition → SGD 150K success fee

- SGD 750K acquisition → SGD 225K success fee

The transaction value, treatment of deferred/contingent consideration, attribution, and payment terms will be agreed in a formal engagement agreement.
