Job Description

Purpose of role

Responsible for ensuring timely credit reviews of all counterparties and sanctioning appropriate credit limits to each name. Provide independent risk assessment of counterparty risk (both quantitative and qualitative) across various commodities and variety of transaction structures, thereby recommending appropriate risk mitigation solutions.

Reporting to Credit Risk Manager, he or she will support to the team by monitoring and reporting on credit exposure status, investigating breaches, and overdue of all outstanding deals to Management on a timely basis.

 

Job Responsibilities

1. Report generation (10%)

• Prepare and generate various system reports on a regular basis (daily, monthly and quarterly). 

• Investigate credit exposure variation to detect and address emerging credit risks effectively.

2. Credit Analysis (75%)

• Perform quantitative and qualitative due diligence, including financial analysis, company background research, macroeconomic research, etc. Assess contract terms and/or credit line terms, including product pricing, payment methods, tenor, risk mitigation clauses, etc, to ascertain credit risk. 

• Monitor impending credit reviews slated for renewal and send reminders to the front office prompting them to update their credit limits.

3. Digital transformation involvement (5%)

• Work with other departments in digital transformation projects to automate credit monitoring processes and actively contribute to idea generation and analysis.

4. Ad hoc Projects and duties (10%)

• Actively participate in ad-hoc risk management projects or activities.

Knowledge and Experience

• Pursuing bachelor’s degree in accountancy, business management, economics, statistics, or equivalent

• Candidate must possess accounting knowledge and demonstrate ability to understand financial statements

• Commodities background exposure (good to have)

• Proficiency in MS Suite programs
