At Top International Holding, we believe that enthusiasm and creative thinking adds up to good work. We are now looking for a Business Development Intern who will sit within the Investment and Business Development team and work closely with key management to support the company’s investment and business development efforts. In particular, the organisation is keen to strengthen its core business in mining and trading while diversifying into adjacent industries. The successful applicant should be able to leverage on his/her field of study to provide support on strategic projects, especially within our focus areas in clean and renewable energy. Under the Investments and Business Development team, the successful applicant can expect to learn and participate across the business acquisition process from opportunity identification to project execution, and perform industry research and analysis, financial evaluation, business strategic and deal implementation.

Job Description

Objectives and Duties of this Role:

  • Conduct industry research and analytical deep-dives in required technical sectors (including core organisational focus areas such as clean and renewable energy) to support strategic business development initiatives
  • Provide technical recommendations and expertise on strategic topics using knowledge and data acquired
  • Identify practical opportunities to explore in the clean and renewable energy space and conduct reviews and assessments to evaluate feasibility
  • Perform due diligence activities including transactional, financial and regulatory evaluation
  • Liaise and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop and expand network
  • Consolidate ideas and findings into relevant deliverables including presentation materials for internal and external reporting
  • Participate in project implementation and provide required support across all related tasks and activities

Knowledge & Skills: 

  • Strong technical knowledge across a breadth of engineering topics
  • Meticulous and resourceful individual with a passion for data and a keen eye for details
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to convey and present ideas coherently, and develop and maintain stakeholder relationships effectively
  • Highly motivated with a positive learning attitude
  • Proactive and independent learner with good teamwork
  • Effective organisational skills to simultaneously manage multiple tasks, meetings and projects 

Key Requirements: 

  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in a technical course (Preferred course of study in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Industrial Engineering)
  • Prior experience in the clean and renewable energy sector is preferred
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Project)
  • Experience in financial modelling is a bonus but not mandatory
