The Job

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Partner in a range of advisory, transactional and contentious employment work as well as industrial relations work, including but not limited to:
  • review and update standard employment documentation, handbooks, etc
  • assist in matters such as employment due diligence on transactions
  • review materials relating to Data Subject Access Requests
  • provide assistance in appropriate contentious employment cases (for example, disclosure, document handling, etc.)
  • addressing to client queries on day-to-day HR-related issues (eg assisting in grievances, disciplinary actions)
  • carry out specific research tasks, managing cross-border project matter
  • represent clients in litigation
  • co-ordinate billing and assist in preparing and delivering client training
  • Develop, manage, and build strong relationships with clients by proactively anticipating the Client’s needs and expectations, delivering timely responses and providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Comply with risk requirements, Firm policies and all relevant professional responsibilities and legislation and while actively contributing o billing, engagement, and client acceptance processes.
  • Collaborating with teams from other offices within the Firm as required for fee-earning or other projects.
  • Build effective relationships with individuals and groups within the global network, while upholding firm’s values; participate in Firm’s events and CSR initiatives, actively engage in marketing and industry events and contribute to the training and preparation of legal precedents

Ideal Candidate

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years' PQE Singapore qualified lawyer however we are open to consider candidates with more or less experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment law and familiarity with relevant industry sectors
  • Proactive and resourceful approach, demonstrating initiative in tackling legal challenges
  • Strong legal skills, including drafting, negotiation and project management skills; along with foundation level people management and business development skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to summarise complex matters
  • Strong IT proficiency, including a willingness to learn and become adept at using software and IT applications, such as navigating large databases and document management systems.
  • Fluency in an ASEAN language is an advantageous asset
