Overview of role
Schroders in conjunction with an investment holding company, is exploring the deployment of blockchain technology and tokenization in the creation of investment products for the investor. The project is at the frontier of modern finance and its intersection with technology in the application of fintech to securities construction and trading. The project aims to review the demand of a specific application of tokenized assets in the construction for portfolios across the asset management industry in Singapore. The project is being co-sponsored by Schroders and the investment holding company, and the output of this project is expected to lead to specific decisions on the possibility of tokenization of assets in Singapore.
Essential Skills
1. An intimate understanding of the fundamental and mathematical construct of fixed income instruments, their issuance and secondary market trading is essential as basic knowledge.
2. Familiarity with various technologies such as cloud computing, python and digital ledger technologies.
3. The ability to work in a fintech start-up like environment exploring uncharted territory in the relentless pursuit of a solution which has not been done before. An absolute passion in the area of fintech and the ability to climb an extremely steep learning curve.
Desirable Skills
As there are no predetermined paths for this project an out of the box thinking mindset is essential. The candidate would be expected to meet with a wide range of market participants and discuss the possibility of such a product.
An ability to digest a lot of information and translate that into concrete data and recommendations would be useful.
