Optionality Consulting – Regulatory and Compliance Associate

We're on the lookout for one passionate, driven, and hard-working person who wants to learn about the operational side of the alternative investment industry. We work with clients across the spectrum from US$1B asset managers to fast-growing startups. You will get the opportunity to touch clients and/or regulators in the U.S.A., E.U., U.K., Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia.

Our boutique regulatory and compliance consultancy is a unique opportunity to learn from senior leadership at a young age. Work alongside the founder, learn about running and growing a business, and yes there will be some less glamorous work along the way (but we won't ask you to do anything that we haven't done ourselves).

Regulatory and Compliance Associate (Full-time Role)

The role will involve a variety of short-term projects lasting from a few hours to a few days as well as a long-term portfolio of work.

Portfolio of work will include:

• Assistance with regulatory filings
• Management of our weekly regulatory update newsletter
• Research on regulatory issues in emerging markets
• Summarizations of upcoming changes in regulation
• Management of client compliance calendars
• Assistance with proposals and presentations

Requirements and skill sets include:

• Detail oriented
• Critical thinker
• Humility
• Ability to self-verify information for accuracy
• Good memory (will need to learn about the global securities markets and retain such information)
• Superior English writing skills – especially the ability to write in the standard UK or American English for addressing our UK and US-based clients
• Interest in global financial markets
• Oral and written Chinese and/or Cantonese to communicate with various bodies in North Asia
