ASSISTANT OPERATIONS MANAGER

About the Role
The Assistant Operations Manager supports the Operations Manager in the day-to-day running of warehouse and logistics operations across Janice Wong Singapore’s retail, corporate gifting, and e-commerce channels. This is a hands-on execution role requiring strong organisational discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate across internal teams and external vendors in a fast-paced, product-driven environment.
Responsibilities
Warehouse & Inventory Operations
- Assist in overseeing daily warehouse operations, including inbound stock receipts, outbound fulfilment, and inter-outlet transfers.
- Maintain accurate stock records across all channels — retail boutiques, corporate orders, and e-commerce — and flag discrepancies promptly.
- Support the implementation and upkeep of the inventory management system, ensuring data integrity across all platforms.
- Conduct regular stock counts and assist in cycle count reconciliation.
Order Fulfilment & Logistics
- Process and coordinate stock requisitions from boutiques, corporate clients, and the e-commerce platform within stipulated timelines.
- Liaise with courier and logistics partners to ensure timely and accurate order despatch.
- Assist in planning and executing stock movements for roadshows, pop-ups, corporate events, and seasonal campaigns.
- Monitor and report on order fulfilment accuracy and delivery performance.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all warehouse and boutique operations comply with WSH guidelines, food and beverage hygiene standards, and internal SOPs.
- Support the Operations Manager in reviewing and updating operational procedures.
- Conduct regular checks to ensure storage conditions meet food safety requirements.
Team Support & Coordination
- Assist in supervising and coordinating warehouse team members, ensuring tasks are prioritised and completed on schedule.
- Provide operational support during peak periods including festive seasons, product launches, corporate gifting campaigns, events, and ad hoc assignments.
- Liaise with the sales team to align on order priorities, packaging requirements, and lead times.
Process Improvement
- Identify operational inefficiencies and escalate recommendations to the Operations Manager.
- Support the evaluation and onboarding of new systems, tools, or vendor partnerships as directed.
Requirements
- Holding a valid Food Safety Hygiene Level 1 Certificate.
- At least 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or retail fulfilment.
- Hands-on familiarity with inventory management systems; experience with F&B or perishable goods environments is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under time pressure.
- Good written and verbal communication in English; able to coordinate effectively across teams.
- Meticulous, dependable, and comfortable working in a physical warehouse setting.
- A genuine interest in food, artisanal products, or premium retail is a plus.
