Job Description

Position Overview:

The successful candidate shall assist in the management of Operational Risk across the firm. He/She should have a keen interest in risk management, possess strong analytical skills and have an aptitude for improving organisational workflow and processes.

Amongst other activities, the successful candidate will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Prepare materials for presentation to the Operational Risk Management Committee.
  • Assist in the review of reported operational risk incidents according to the Group Operational Risk Management Framework; identification of root causes and lessons learnt to prevent recurrence.
  • Review of outsourcing assessments for the onboarding of new vendors; and periodic reviews for existing vendors according to the Vendor Management Guidelines.
  • Assist in the annual Business Continuity Plan (“BCP”) testing, whereby a tabletop exercise and a full-scale BCP drill shall be conducted in accordance with MAS BCM guidelines.
  • Assist in the Risk and Control Self Assessment (“RCSA”) workshop:
    1. Engage Business Lines / Functions on their end-to-end processes selected for the workshop.
    2. Documentation of learnings from the workshop and proposed action items
    3. Review enhancements to the RCSA process maps where there are changes to key processes within the Business Lines / Function; risk assessment ratings; controls to mitigate the identified operational risks)
  • Assist Business Lines / Functions in the development of a Material Risk Inventory to capture key risk indicators that would be help signal increasing risk exposure and serve as early detection of risk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completed / pursuing a university degree in, Business, Accounting, Finance, Risk Management or any related subject;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word;
  • Excellent research, writing and communication skills (both written and verbal);
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with attention to details and meticulous when working with documents;
  • A team player with the ability to multitask, demonstrate initiative and work within tight timeframes.
