Company Profile

CFTE is a young European-based startup into fintech education for professionals with a small office in Singapore and seeking an IT lead who is highly motivated, with a cutting-edge mindset to take ownership and responsibility of the current overall CFTE tools and platforms.

Job Description

Based in Singapore or London, the IT engineer is in charge of ensuring smooth day to day IT operations of the platform while configuring / implementing or coding new features on the platform looking also at its scalability to support the growth of the company. A first professional experience in development is needed, we expect candidates in the range of 2 to 7 years of experience, the salary range given covers this range in our startup context. This role is fit for individuals who value ownership, involvement, continuous upskilling in a fast changing environment over stable positions at a steady pace.

The platform is made up mainly of different SaaS solutions (MOOC solution, CRM solution...), Web components (running on WordPress) and APIs which are custom dev running on AWS.

Scope:
- Ensure on a day to day basis the stability of the overall platform (monitor daily synchronizations between systems, accuracy of the reports generated to the teams…)
- Collaborate with CFTE’s teams to understand the business roadmap and build the tech roadmap accordingly, identifying what needs to be done to scale the systems accordingly, assess new solutions (e.g implementation of SSO mechanism with certain clients)
- Own the overall architecture of the platform and identify how to make it evolve smartly
- Identify and implement tech initiatives which can lead to better productivity for the different teams (automation of onboarding of clients, automation of reports, etc…)
- Build and manage on an ongoing basis the backlog of improvements / new features / technical issues in production by collaborating and getting feedbacks from the different teams using the platform (marketing, business development, operations…)
- Configure the SaaS solutions, code / test / deploy on AWS the different web components and APIs (PHP / Javascript / Java as of today). Possibly decide to switch to GCP if it makes more sense for CFTE.
- As the company grows up, possibly drive some contractors to augment development capacity or interns / new hires if the tech team grows up.

Requirements:
- Penultimate year in University. We're looking for potential conversions to permanent employees.

- At least a year of experience working in other companies.

- Super Tech savvy mindset, not afraid to discover new tools and technologies on his/her own, play around with technologies to see what can be done. A self learner who can identify the best way to ramp up his/her skills in different domains depending on the needs and growth of the startup: AWS/GCP, development language, SaaS configurations, BI/analytics, SSO connectivity between the SaaS education platforms and B2B customers...
- Not an expert in development, but a first operational experience of development and keen on upskilling oneself. Custom dev represents today about 20% of the information system, the rest being configuration of SAAS platforms. Keen on doing development on Front end and Back end and learn / bring in the relevant languages as needed (Javascript, API in Java…)
- Mindset of continuous improvement to identify with the business and operations teams all things that can be optimized / automated through tech and implement these improvements
- Analytical skills to be able to define a solution in details avoiding loopholes and then implement it, while being able to communicate the overall picture for non tech people to understand. Example: come up with an approach to get clean data in the CRM system and implement it.
- Strong team player: the IT engineer will be the one who will be the go to person in CFTE for all things related to tech, so he/she needs to be at ease in communication, both oral and written (with team in Europe) and genuinely wanting to collaborate
- Strong sense of ownership and proactive: this is a startup, so don’t expect to have someone telling you everything that must be done, instead identify things that must be done for the good of the company and the teams, bring the topics on the table, discuss them and then get them done.
