We are seeking a motivated Biology Research Intern/Research Assistant to join our biology team. The successful candidate will provide laboratory research support to help achieve key research milestones. This role is ideal for candidates with foundational laboratory experience who are eager to develop their skills and gain real-world exposure in a dynamic, fast-paced biotechnology environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the assay development and compound screening using cell-based assay platforms.
- Perform routine mammalian adherent cell culture experiments and related bioanalytical assays, including:
- Fluorescence and luminescence-based assays
- Western blot analysis
- Immunostaining imaging
- Execute experiments in accordance with established SOPs and project objectives.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of laboratory procedures, experimental data, and observations.
- Coordinate laboratory procurement activities and monitor inventory of laboratory supplies and consumables.
- Perform routine laboratory housekeeping to ensure a safe, organised, and compliant working environment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or Diploma in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related Life Sciences discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of basic laboratory experience is preferred, including at least 1 year of hands-on relevant research and development experiences.
- Experience supporting industry collaboration projects or biotechnology research programmes will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, organisational, communication and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Highly motivated with a strong willingness to learn and adapt to new scientific concepts and laboratory techniques.
- Demonstrates professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all aspects of work.
