Asia Group Advisors – Analyst Intern

Role Overview

AGA is seeking a full-time Intern to be based in our Singapore office. We are seeking an English-speaking candidate with a strong understanding of, and interest in Southeast Asia’s business, politics, and economics.

The candidate must have outstanding research and writing skills, and be able to produce concise and insightful briefings on economic, political, and legal developments in Southeast Asia. Candidates with prior internship experience in government, think tanks and research institutions, academia or journalism will be prioritized. Prior internship experience in government relations, corporate affairs or strategic communications is also an advantage.

Working as an Intern in AGA provides a rewarding opportunity to gain experience in the dynamic space between Asia’s governments, businesses, and civil society organizations. Our Interns play critical roles in a growing firm providing solutions to some of the world’s largest and most respected companies and organizations. Interns are at an advantage to join AGA when timely, relevant analyst positions open.

Responsibilities include:

• Supporting to provide input/analysis for research on specific regulations, legislation, and policies for clients or project work in the Singapore;
• Drafting PowerPoint presentations and project updates for clients
• Providing project support for AGA’s regional clients that have ad-hoc requests on the Singapore market
• Providing logistic support for meetings and events as needed and assigned;
• Formatting of specific documents as assigned;
• Supporting AGA’s bulletin team in drafting weekly updates on the Singapore market, focused on political, economic, domestic/foreign policies
• Supporting additional operational and administrative activities, when required

Desired Skills and experience:

• Outstanding research and writing skills.
• Highly articulate English language skills, both written and oral.
• Fluency in a Southeast Asian language is an advantage.
• Engaging interpersonal negotiation and communication skills, including experience in cross-cultural environments and international settings.
• Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• The ability to work in a team and under tight deadlines.
• Flexibility and adaptability to constantly changing priorities.
• A dynamic, self-starter, and autonomous attitude.
• Keen interest in the politics and economics of Southeast Asia.
