Triplestar Holdings – AI & Finance Automation Intern

Triplestar Holdings is an investment holding company initiated by the 3rd generation of the family behind the Tat Hong Group of businesses. The company sources and develops business opportunities for the family through private equity investments, strategic partnerships and M&A. Triplestar leverages on the Tat Hong family network and the shareholders’ extensive investment banking experience to bring strategic value and financial support to its partnerships.

Triplestar's portfolio spans across real estate services, education, hospitality, and trading & distribution.

Triplestar's Finance & Accounting team supports multiple group companies, handling accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliation, GST filings, monthly management accounts, and year-end audits. Much of this work is still manual. We're looking for an intern to sit directly with the accounts team, understand their day-to-day workflows, and build tools — scripts, spreadsheet automation, or AI/agent-based workflows — that remove repetitive manual steps.

This is a hands-on, build-something-real internship. You'll spend time shadowing the finance team to map out where time is being lost, then prototype and ship automations that actually get used.

What you'll work on:

• Mapping current manual processes (AP/AR entry, bank reconciliation, invoice matching, intercompany charging, GST return prep, management account compilation)
• Building automation using tools such as Excel/Google Sheets scripting, Python, Zapier/Make, or AI agent workflows (e.g. LLM-based document extraction, auto-categorization, report generation)
• Automating recurring reporting (monthly management accounts, intercompany reconciliations)
• Working with the finance team to test, refine, and roll out tools with minimal disruption to existing processes
• Documenting workflows so tools can be maintained after the internship ends

What we're looking for:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field
• Comfortable with spreadsheets at an advanced level; prior exposure to Python, SQL, or workflow/automation tools is a strong plus
• Interest in AI tools and agent-based workflows for document processing or data extraction
• Basic understanding of bookkeeping/accounting concepts (AP/AR, reconciliations, GST) — doesn't need to be deep, but enough to speak the team's language
• Self-directed: comfortable sitting with a non-technical team, asking questions, and proposing solutions without heavy hand-holding
• Good communicator — you'll need buy-in from the finance team, not just working code
