Job Description

Working Hours: Irregular hours, 40 hours per week on a shift roster

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. The FOH Intern will play a supporting & assisting role to the Front-of-House (FOH) Department.
  2. She / he will be working closely with the FOH Senior Administrator.
  3. She / he will be attached to the various departments on a shift roster basis. (Front-of-House, Box Office & Theatre Bar)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties include, but may not be limited to:

Front-of-House

  1. Assist to maintain the FOH email account & follow-up with casuals’ enquiries & duty confirmations.
  2. Update & follow-up with casuals’ monthly availability for events.
  3. Contact casuals to updates on event related matters.
  4. Update work allocation records promptly.
  5. Assist & support event operations.
  6. Assist with ad-hoc projects tasked by FOH Management.
  7. Assist with verification of casuals’ transportation claims & monthly invoicing.
  8. Other administrative duties tasked by FOH Administrator.
  9. Assist with maintenance of FOH Inventory.
  10. Liaise with new candidates on application enquiries.
  11. Scheduling of candidates for interviews & training.
  12. Assist with usher training materials & preparations.
  13. Documenting & filing of casuals’ application forms & Contract of Service.
  14. Keeping track of ushers’ completion of training modules.
  15. Minute-taking during department meetings.


 Box Office

  1. Process ticket sales & ticket collection over the counter.
  2. Attend to all walk-in enquiries.
  3. Coordinate with ticket agent’s helpdesk regarding tickets refund, return & upgrade.
  4. Be equipped with good venue & events knowledge so as to attend to customer enquiries effectively.
  5. Promote ticketed events at The Star PAC.
  6. Adhere to standard operating procedures & strive for continuous improvements.
  7. Ensure that Box Office inventories are stocked up, e.g. ticket papers for printing & topping up of brochures.
  8. Responsible for the housekeeping of a clean & tidy box office area.
  9. Assist with ad-hoc duties tasked by BXO Supervisor.
  10. Able to work evenings, weekends and public holidays (Shifts are generally between 4:00pm - 8:00pm or 12:00pm - 8:00pm)


Theatre Bar (Bar Attendant)

  1. Enhance the overall experience of patrons attending events at The Star Performing Arts Centre by providing excellent customer service.
  2. Handle sales & serving of food & beverages over the counter on event days.
  3. Perform basic cashiering & cash handling.
  4. Maintain cleanliness & hygiene of bar counter.
  5. Manage par stocking & stock inventory.


Requirements

  1. A good command of written & spoken English.  
  2. Have a flair for customer service. Experience in the service industry is an advantage.
  3. Be able to work irregular hours on event & training days (if applicable), 40 hours per week on a shift roster.
  4. Be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  5. Good interpersonal & communication skills.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  7. Team player
  8. Proactive & possess a positive attitude.

$500 per month
