Job Summary
The Technical Pre-Sales Consultant assists with technical Pre-sales and Professional Services activities. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer (CIO) he/she is responsible for assisting in the creation of technical solutions for customer demonstrations, the installation and configuration of Solus software at client sites, technical sales and demonstrations at marketing events, assisting with the creation of proof of concept applications or projects. This is a client facing role with the following additional requirements:
- Technical Knowledge Transfer and training to customers via good written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Assisting in all levels of technical account planning and accompanies sales staff on visits to customers.
- Installation, configuration and support of Solus applications and platforms.
- Provides technical input to sales proposals and presents and differentiates product offerings at a technical level.
- Actively participates in internal specialist teams and provide consultative support in specialist areas to other Pre-sales and Professional Services Consultants.
Responsibilities
- Work with customers up to ‘C’ level to accurately capture and document their requirements. Be able to effectively communicate these requirements to others.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Solus Platform to be able to provide well thought out solutions to customer problems.
- Assist the CIO in the delivery of Proof of Concept (POC) Solutions. Actual development experience is not essential but would be desirable.
- Provide technical support for professional services projects.
- Provide support at external and internal customer facing events including sales shows, presentations etc.
- Assist with the completion of Request for Information(RFIs) or a Request for Proposals (RFPs).
- Assist with the installation of Solus Applications both remotely and physically at client premises. Produce installation documentation specific to a customer’s environment.
- Provide support and training to clients during and after the installation.

Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS)
Installation and configuration of Internet Information Services (in a load-balanced environment).
Web Site/Application Creation and Management, SSL, Tuning, Load Balancing.
Microsoft SQL Server
Installation and configuration of SQL Server (in a clustered environment).
Database Creation and Management, Tuning, Backup and Restore Strategies.
Query generation to strict coding standards and procedures as specified by Solus CIO.
