Sodion Energy Pte Ltd – Product & Project Engineer

Sodion Energy is a Singapore-based deep-tech company developing sodium-ion battery solutions for mobility, industrial applications and energy storage. Our hands-on team brings products from development and testing into real-world customer deployments.

We are hiring TWO Product & Project Engineers for the same combined role. Reporting directly to the CTO, each will take day-to-day engineering responsibility for an assigned battery product line and manage technical and project delivery for at least one major customer account. You will gain exposure across the complete product lifecycle, from component selection and testing to supplier coordination, customer deployments and field troubleshooting.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain technical specifications, product documents and engineering revisions.
• Work with cell, BMS and enclosure suppliers on samples, design changes and quality issues.
• Carry out bench tests, analyse test data and prepare clear engineering reports.
• Travel to China for supplier/factory reviews and within Southeast Asia for customer visits, pilots and project support.
• Support compliance testing, customer pilots, deployments and investigations of field failures.
• Lead day-to-day delivery for at least one major customer account: clarify technical requirements, manage milestones/risks, track tests and shipments, coordinate stakeholders and keep the customer updated.
• Use AI tools for research, documentation and data analysis, checking outputs before use.

Requirements:

• Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident, due to customer-site and defence-related project access requirements.
• Diploma or degree in a relevant engineering discipline; fresh graduates welcome.
• Confident spoken Mandarin for technical discussions with China-based suppliers; English for documentation and customer coordination.
• Willingness to travel to China and within Southeast Asia; basic battery knowledge and hands-on testing aptitude.
• Able to plan and follow through on customer projects while actively testing, troubleshooting and making evidence-based engineering recommendations; comfortable using AI tools.

Helpful experience: battery, EV or energy storage projects; CAD software; Excel or Python for engineering data analysis. Final-year projects and internships are welcome.
