The Role

Aid is looking for a Product Design Intern to support the development of architectural products, interior systems, and building materials.

You will work across concept development, technical detailing, material research, prototyping, and product documentation, helping turn early ideas into practical, manufacturable solutions.

This is a hands-on role suited for someone who enjoys understanding how things are made, how materials behave, and how design decisions translate into real products.

What You’ll Work On

Product Development

- Develop concepts for architectural and interior products

- Assist with product detailing, dimensions, assemblies, and construction methods

- Prepare drawings, diagrams, renderings, and presentation materials

- Refine existing products based on design, production, installation, and performance requirements

Materials & Prototyping

- Research materials, finishes, fabrication methods, and manufacturing processes

- Support prototyping, mock-ups, sampling, and product testing

- Evaluate products for usability, durability, manufacturability, and visual quality

- Work with suppliers and fabricators to translate design intent into production

Technical & Design Research

- Study architectural systems, interior products, and emerging material technologies

- Benchmark competitor products and identify opportunities for improvement

- Assist in preparing product specifications, technical documentation, and catalogues

- Contribute ideas for new products, systems, details, and applications

What We’re Looking For

- Strong design sense with good spatial and technical understanding

- Attention to detail and an interest in how products are constructed

- Ability to communicate ideas through drawings, diagrams, models, or visualisations

- Comfortable developing and refining ideas through iteration

- Able to work independently and manage multiple design tasks

- Curious, practical, and willing to learn from both design and manufacturing constraints

Experience with AutoCAD, Rhino, SketchUp, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar design software is an advantage.

Students or graduates from Product Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering Design, or related disciplines are welcome to apply.

Compensation

S$1,000–S$1,400/month

Final compensation will depend on education level, experience, and suitability for the role.
