Silkroad Nickel Limited ("SRN") is the first nickel mining company listed on the SGX. Silkroad Nickel trades on the SGX under the ticker STP. Being primarily engaged in exploration, mining, production and sales of nickel ore, Silkroad Nickel Ltd has the mining business license (“IUP”) to carry out nickel ore mining operations in Sulawesi, Indonesia through holding 99% of PT Teknik Alum Service (“PT TAS”) which is located in the Morowali Regency, Central Sulawesi, Indonesia. The Group also has plans to foster growth opportunities in its upstream and downstream business towards its vision of becoming an integrated nickel mining company. SRN has intentions of investing in smelting technologies to widen its depth and scope in the industry.

Role Description

The internship will involve hands-on participation in the core activities of an operating commodities mining firm, with an emphasis on M&A and capital markets. You will learn how to critically evaluate the mining industry and potential upstream and downstream acquisition targets, how to value them, how to approach potential sellers, the process of completing the acquisition of a private business, and the many challenges in doing so.

You can expect significant mentorship from the executive team, as well as a wealth of interesting experiences that should serve well in pursuing your career in business.

Role Responsibilities

  • Analyse industry prospects by gathering information about growth, competitors, and market share possibilities
  • Conduct vigorous due diligence on industry prospects
  • Review and analyse confidential information provided by potential acquisition targets
  • Build Financial Model and participate in valuation of potential acquisition targets using DCF and Comparable methods
  • Participate in and take notes in phone calls with investors, investment bankers and business owners
  • Work hand-in-hand with M&A team and executives on live deals involving mergers and acquisition

Requirements:

  • Prefer candidates currently in 2nd , 3 rd , or 4th year at a top-tier undergraduate business program
  • Team player and also able to work independently
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and presentation skills. Position requires proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong Financial Modelling Skills
  • Self-motivated, confident and positive individual who is result driven, detailed, a problem solver and a good communicator
  • Have a growth mindset, resilient and able to learn and relearn in a fast-paced environment
  • Good interpersonal skills and strong analytical skills
  • Fluent in English, and Mandarin. Bahasa is a plus.
