Job Description

THE ROLE

As our Communications Intern, you’d be a key part of our daily work. You will get to work with an experienced and nurturing senior team and learn about how we advise companies in building out their corporate stories and in reflecting the corporate stories authentically to the public through various medium and platforms.

To be a successful Communications Intern, you must be ready to read the news (and a lot of this!), support the senior team’s work in research related to the client companies’ business and our media relations engagements. This will require an individual who appreciates the power of storytelling and is passionate about authentically delivering the right messages to the right audience. You should be some one who is confident in writing, thrives on building positive relationships with those whom you work with, and resourceful in solving implementation problems (because…. Murphy’s Law always happens!)

WHAT YOUR DAILY WORK CAN LOOK LIKE:

  • Create and curate engaging content for media releases and/or social media platforms
  • Communicate and collaborate with current or prospect clients or content partners
  • Draft and distribute media releases and media kit content
  • Monitor of media coverage on media release that were issued and creating the reports
  • Update of media lists and databases
  • Schedule, coordinate and facilitate various media-related events
  • Research on information required for our communications campaign and content development

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Enrolment in a degree or higher diploma in public relations, communications, or journalism
  • Excellent understanding of various social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
  • Efficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interest in the communications industry and its best practices
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
