Job Description

Overall Purpose:

This position performs mid-level vessel execution related functions for the Global Freight Platform’s time & voyage chartered vessel fleet transporting both agricultural and mineral cargoes for an international commodity trading firm

Main accountabilities (Main Responsibilities):

  • Review contracts to be in line with System input
  • Review, approve and send invoices to Customers
  • Monitor AR Aging and provide analysis / Credit Control
  • Review and approve invoices and prepare payments to Vendors
  • Assist in preparing Cashflow Statements
  • Liaise closely with Operators and Traders on operations matters
  • Perform reconciliation and mass settlements with Vendors and Inter-Company
  • Vessel closing and month end closing

Skills:

  • Some Knowledge of Maritime or Accounting
  • Strong attention to detail, including precise accuracy of data entry
  • Detailed follow-through abilities and strong documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Languages:

Fluent English Mandatory

Systems:

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel and accounting general ledger software

Technical/ Functional skills:

Proficiency with IMOS vessel accounting software
