Simbiosis Consulting Pte Ltd – Accounting Intern

The intern will be assigned a fixed portfolio of clients, primarily small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and will assist in maintaining their accounting records and preparing periodic management accounts.

The internship is designed to provide undergraduates with hands-on experience in managing real client accounts and understanding the end-to-end accounting process. Under the guidance and supervision of experienced team members, the intern’s responsibilities may include:

Maintaining accounting records for an assigned portfolio of clients;

 Recording and classifying business transactions accurately;

 Handling accounts receivable and accounts payable;

 Performing bank reconciliations and reviewing reconciling items;

 Preparing and posting journal entries and necessary accounting adjustments;

 Assisting in the preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts;

 Reviewing supporting documents and identifying missing, unusual or incomplete information;

 Liaising with team members on accounting issues and outstanding matters; and

 Using AI and automation tools to organise, classify and process accounting data before importing the information into accounting systems.

Progressive Learning & Development

At the beginning of the internship, the intern will focus on a defined portfolio with a manageable scope. This allows the intern to develop a strong foundation in accounting processes, accuracy, time management and responsibility for assigned work.

As the intern demonstrates the ability to manage the assigned portfolio accurately, independently and within deadlines, the scope of work will progressively expand.

• Participate in process improvement and accounting automation projects; and
