Job Description

Role

As a Risk Management and Compliance Intern, you will have a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the Second Line function of a financial institution. You will support our risk and compliance teams in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks, as well as ensuring adherence to internal / regulatory requirements. This role offers insights into risk management frameworks, compliance strategies, and the regulatory landscape impacting financial technology (fintech) operations.

Responsibilities

Risk Management

• Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of risk management and compliance processes. Provide recommendations for improving risk management practices and compliance procedures

• Assist in strategic initiatives and risk management strategies 

Compliance Monitoring

• Support the team in monitoring compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies

• Assist in conducting compliance testing and reviews to ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with team members on various projects and initiatives, including the launch and development of new fintech and capital markets-related products.

Documentation and Reporting

• Support the maintenance of accurate records of risk assessments, compliance checks, and incident reports

• Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal stakeholders

Requirements

Education

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field

• Recent graduates with relevant coursework are also encouraged to apply

Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• Good understanding of financial regulations and risk management principles

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks applicable to fintech (e.g., PDPA, AML, KYC) and AI tools are a plus
