The Head of Operations (Hawker Centre Cluster) will be responsible for the running of the hawker centres under the master tenant and managing agent schemes (~ 10 centres across Singapore). On top of day-to-day business matters covering a broad range of responsibilities including hygiene, compliance to legislation, tenant relations and outlet vibrancy, the incumbent will also be tasked with rolling out key initiatives for continuing improvement and achievement of strategic goals for the Food Services organisation which encompass commercial and social considerations.
Key Responsibilities
Leads the Hawker Centre Unit to achieve business targets of revenue growth and profitability by maintaining a regular and rigorous cadence of reporting, prioritization and execution
Works with FCF leadership and functional / project owners to pilot and implement key initiatives - digitalisation, delivery, e-payments etc to enable productivity improvement and modernization of the hawker business
Partners closely with the relevant agencies to achieve broader outcomes linked to hawker culture, affordable food, healthy eating and cleanliness
Drives operational excellence and adherence to SOPs for cash handling, hygiene and safety, customer service
Identifies gaps in team capability and coaches/develops individuals to attain requisite knowledge and skills to accomplish their tasks
Qualifications
At least 10 years of experience in a management role with at least 5 years P&L ownership
Strong organisational skills and demonstrated leadership ability
Effective communicator; able to adapt communication style to the audience without compromising message content
Experience in a food related business will be an advantage
Familiarity with industry rules and regulations
Good analytical skills with the ability to anticipate potential issues and plan for contingencies without overkill
