Job Description

As an intern, you will work closely with the Investment Department and gain hands-on exposure to the research and analysis that goes into understanding financial markets. Your work may involve studying investment funds, listed companies, industries and broader economic developments, while keeping track of market movements and identifying trends that could affect investment performance.

You will also explore how major economic events, changes in monetary policy and developments in the global economy can influence markets and investors. As part of your research, you may be involved in preparing market updates, investment reports, research summaries and presentation materials. You may also contribute to investment-related content and research insights that can be used by financial advisers or discussed within the team.

Throughout the internship, you will gain a better understanding of how investment professionals assess funds, evaluate opportunities and develop investment ideas. You will be introduced to areas such as portfolio construction, investment strategies and long-term market trends, while learning how to interpret financial information and turn complex data into clear and useful conclusions. You will also have the opportunity to work with the investment team on ongoing research projects and assignments.

The internship is designed to provide more than just experience in reading financial news or analysing information behind a computer. You may have opportunities to visit fund management companies and see how professional investment teams operate in practice. You may also attend investment seminars, industry events and market briefings, giving you the chance to hear directly from professionals working across the financial services industry.

Through these experiences, you can build your network and gain a better understanding of the different career paths within finance and investments. You may also observe how research and market analysis are applied in real-world situations, including client discussions and portfolio recommendations. This will allow you to experience the investment process from the early stages of researching an idea through to forming an investment view or recommendation.

Who This Internship Is For:

We are looking for individuals who are genuinely interested in investing, financial markets and the global economy. You should enjoy asking questions, researching unfamiliar topics and trying to understand why markets and investments behave the way they do. An analytical mindset and the ability to think critically will be valuable, as you will often be required to assess information from different sources and form your own conclusions.

Strong communication skills are also important, as you will be expected to explain your findings and ideas clearly, both in writing and through discussions with the team. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is proactive, attentive to detail and willing to learn.

By the end of the internship, you will have gained practical exposure to investment research, financial analysis and professional communication. More importantly, you will develop a clearer understanding of how investment teams gather information, evaluate opportunities and use research to support financial decision-making.

The experience can provide a strong foundation for students who are exploring future careers in investment research, portfolio management, financial advisory, asset management or other areas of the financial services industry.
