Job Description - Business Development Intern 

Greenitio is a Singapore-based climate tech startup that develops functional biopolymer ingredients to substitute intentionally added microplastics and non-renewable polymers in consumer products (cosmetics, personal care, home care, nutraceuticals, etc.). We are creating unique biomolecules that aim to exhibit comparable performance and provide similar functionalities to petroleum-derived materials minus pollution.

Job Description

We are looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Intern to help us expand our customer base and develop deep, long-term partnerships and relationships on behalf of Greenitio. You will be at the front of the company and will have the dedication to create and apply an effective sales strategy.

The key deliverables and goal are to drive sustainable, profitable financial growth through boosting sales and forging strong relationships with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a growth strategy focused on financial goals and customer satisfaction/needs.
  • Conduct research and networking to identify new markets and customer needs.
  • Arrange business meetings with prospective clients.
  • Promote the company’s products/services, addressing or predicting clients’ objectives.
  • Prepare and negotiate sales contracts, ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines in each market.
  • Keep accurate records of sales, revenue, costs, invoices, etc.
  • Provide trustworthy feedback and after-sales support.
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Develop any future entry-level staff into valuable salespeople.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven 1+ years of working experience as a business development manager, sales executive or a relevant role in the specialty chemicals/ ingredients industry. We are looking for someone who has experience selling in a B2B environment to CPG/ FMCG companies.
  • Working across various time zones and embracing remote work is essential.
  • Experience in customer support is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.)
  • Proficiency in English. Additional European languages are a plus.
  • Market knowledge of the Western Europe FMCG and B2B chemicals industry is a plus.
  • Communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to build rapport.
  • Time management and planning skills.
  • BSc/BA in business administration, sales or a relevant field
