The GIA Internship Programme, a.k.a. GIP, is an annual 10-12 weeks internship programme open to all undergraduates across any discipline.

Job Description


The Underwriting Intern will:

1) Assist Underwriters in populating risk and data analysis and reporting

2) Use of pricing tools to check for rate adequacy

3) Identify areas of enhancements in existing insurance products

4) Coordinate with the support team to ensure valid and timely responses on requests for quotations

5) Comparison against competitors products and coverage

6) Work with the claims team to attain effectiveness in the claims process

7) Review endorsements on existing policies to identify any change in original coverage or amounts. Evaluates, accepts, rejects or modifies risks within established underwriting guidelines.

- Possesses good knowledge in Microsoft Office

- Possesses positive thinking with a keen attitude to learn

- Driven and self-motivated

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties
