Roles & Responsibilities:

• Develop APIs and program code for the existing mathematical models and optimization problems in the energy domain
• Validate the performance of the algorithms and optimization models through extensive tests
• Work closely with algorithm developers to understand the models and assist in performance evaluation

Requirements:

• Major in Computer Science or Software Engineering
• Ability to work and collaborate with other team members in different domains, including algorithm developers and software developers
• Great communication and writing skills
• Strong knowledge of Python programming and C++ (Go is a plus)
• Knowledge of developing optimization models using optimization solvers (e.g. Gurobi, CPLEX, CBC or SCIP) and mathematical modeling languages (e.g. AMPL or GAMS)
• Knowledge in theory and application of optimization algorithms such as linear programming (LP) and mixed integer linear programming (MILP)
• Knowledge of economic dispatch, power system analysis during contingency conditions, electricity market participation, and bidding strategies is a plus
