Entrepreneur First is Europe’s leading pre-seed deep tech investor. Supported by Infocomm Investments, they’ve just launched their first programme in Singapore in September 2016.
This company helps the world's most ambitious computer scientists and engineers build companies from scratch, even before they have a co-founder or fixed idea. EF has an intensive 6-month programme that is designed to give their clients the best possible support in the first 100 days of their startup’s life. The 50 companies they’ve built so far are now worth over S$500 million, and have raised investment from some of the most prestigious investors in the world including Index Ventures, Balderton Capital and Y Combinator.
As part of the founding team in Singapore, you’ll be responsible from day one. One day you’ll work with Singapore’s most prominent founders and investors, but another day you, along with other employees, will have to collect beer cans after an event. There is very little hierarchy, and you are encouraged to work on projects that you find exciting. The Talent Team finds the top technical talent here in Singapore to join our programme. In general, your responsibilities include:
- Operations and Admin: Support the EF team in their day-to-day operations, with tasks ranging from emailing applicants to looking into data from previous participants in order to shape EF's recruitment strategy.
- Selection and Interviews: As the EF team interview hundreds of EF applicants over the course of the year, schedule interviews and make sure you coordinate everyone is where they’re supposed to be, on time.
- Event Management: EF runs a lot of dinners and events for the most promising founders, and you’ll be responsible for everything from invitations to ensuring the day runs smoothly. Liaise with speakers and venues, and take responsibility for marketing.
