ENCORE FILMS was established in 2003 with the aim of bringing quality movies to the audience in the Southeast Asia region. Encore Films released the DEATH NOTE movie series which grossed over S$5.3 million in Singapore, and have distributed Japanese animation classics such as MY NEIGHBOUR TOTORO, PONYO ON THE CLIFF BY THE SEA and THE WIND RISES for Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. Encore Films is currently the top distributor for Japanese and Asian content in these countries. Encore Films also distributes movies in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, and expanded our distribution network to Vietnam in 2016. 

In addition to its creditable track record, Encore Films has also released numerous blockbusters including NONSTOP, JU-ON SERIES, THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM, A CHINESE GHOST STORY, COLD WAR 1 & 2, ATTACK ON TITAN and DRAGON BLADE. DRAGON BLADE grossed a total of more than S$2.5 million in the box office in 2015, and was among the top ten highest-grossing Asian movies in Singapore in 2015. In May 2016, Encore Films released its first local movie production YOUNG & FABULOUS, which became a local hit that grossed over S$1.3 million. COLD WAR 2 was released in August the same year to box office success, grossing over $2 million at the box office, which more than doubled that of the first movie’s box office performance.
