Biohackk SG – Software Engineering Intern

Biohackk is hiring a full-stack Software Engineering Intern with strong hands-on experience in React and/or React Native. You’ll build end-to-end features across our client app (mobile) and web surfaces, wire them to secure back-end APIs, and help craft the polished, privacy-first experiences that power our health transformation journeys. Software Engineering Internship

Responsibilities:

 • Build user-facing features in React (web) and React Native (mobile, Expo), including navigation, forms, data-viz, and offline-friendly flows.
 • Implement and integrate back-end APIs (REST/GraphQL) using Node.js (NestJS/Express) and Postgres; own features end-to-end.
 • Develop reusable components and front-end state/data layers (Hooks, React Query, Zustand/Redux).
 • Ship production-quality code with tests, telemetry, and feature-flagged rollouts.
 • Collaborate with design, product, and clinicians to refine UX and translate workflows into software.
 • Contribute to prototypes in OCR/AI for lab-report parsing (optional but welcomed).Minimum Qualifications:
 • Hands-on React or React Native experience demonstrated via coursework or projects (please include GitHub/portfolio).
 • Comfortable with Hooks, component composition, and at least one navigation/form library.
 • Basic back-end experience in Node.js (NestJS/Express) building simple REST or GraphQL endpoints.
 • Working knowledge of SQL (Postgres preferred) and an ORM (Prisma/TypeORM) or query builder.
 • Familiarity with API integration, auth (sessions/JWT), and web/mobile fundamentals (HTTP, async, performance basics).
 • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Git/GitHub, and debugging tools.
 • Currently pursuing a degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience; 12–24 week internship (full-time preferred).Preferred Qualifications:
 • Next.js (SSR/ISR, API routes) and React Server Components; mobile OTA updates with Expo EAS.
 • Testing with Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright; Detox for React Native.
 • Cloud basics (AWS/GCP), Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions); observability (Sentry/OpenTelemetry).
 • Exposure to computer vision/OCR or ML frameworks (OpenCV, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
