AngelCentral is one of the fastest growing community of angel investors in Southeast Asia. We organize regular curated pitch sessions, angel education workshops and provide syndication services.
The idea for AngelCentral started in late 2016 as an initiative by Der Shing and Shao Ning to share their experiences and lessons learnt on angel investing. Also, as the Partners meet hundreds of startups annually, they decided to organise pitch days help promising startups connect with angel investors.
With the initial success and validation of their efforts in 2017, having trained >100 angels and raising $3.5m for the startups that they featured, AngelCentral incorporated officially in February 2018 with the mission to build a community of effective angel investors in Southeast Asia.
We’re looking for two student interns who are passionate about technology, innovation and entrepreneurship to assist us in achieving our mission. In return, we will offer you mentoring, experience, referrals and visibility into the inner circles of the technology, startup and angel investment industry.
As a super-intern, you will be a key member of our team to help achieve our mission of building an effective community of angel investors in Southeast Asia. You will know what is it like to be working in a startup while working with and learning from some of the most experienced mentors and investors in Singapore, gain a better understanding and insight into the startup and angel investing space in Southeast Asia, and be exposed to many high net worth individuals ranging from a diverse set of backgrounds, including former entrepreneurs, C-Suite executives, and fund managers.
As a super-intern in a startup, you will be handling and managing different job tasks and projects at once. They include:
Analysing data and feedback from investors to explore and execute on new ideas and strategies to develop and engage the community further
Conducting market research and assessment to develop new content to increase the number of educational resources available for our community
Developing and managing our social media and web presence (ie. Linkedin, Facebook, MailChimp and website)
Managing the logistics and operations for startup pitch days and angel investment workshops (you will get to learn too!)
Assisting with the development, management and closing of startup investment syndicate deals
Any other tasks as required (we are a startup made up of a small team after all!)
Internship details:
Duration: Full-Time for 6 months (Jan to Jun 2018, with the potential to extend further)
Hours are flexible and not strictly fixed
Intern stipend: between $600 - $1000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
Location: One-North, the “Silicon Valley” of Singapore
Requirements:
Currently studying in a recognized university, preferably in a business/communications related major
Excellent command of the English language with great communication and writing skills
Willingness to learn
Web-savvy
Strong bias for execution
