Varsity Tech – AI Agent Engineering Intern (Fintech)

* Role Overview

We are looking for a hungry, hands-on AI Agent Intern who is deeply curious about AI and has already built real projects using modern AI tools (LLMs, agents, automation workflows, etc.).

This is not a theory role. You will work directly on production-grade agent systems used in quantitative research, trading workflows, and financial intelligence tools.

If you spend your free time building with APIs, chaining LLMs, or experimenting with agent frameworks — you will fit right in.

* What You’ll Work On

You will help design, build, and improve AI-driven systems such as:

• Multi-agent research and analysis pipelines

• LLM-powered financial assistants

• Autonomous data extraction and processing agents

• Prompt pipelines and evaluation frameworks

• AI tooling for traders and quants

• Workflow automation across our fintech stack

You will be expected to ship real code and iterate fast.

* Responsibilities

• Build and experiment with AI agent workflows

• Prototype and ship LLM-powered tools

• Design prompts and improve agent reliability

• Integrate AI systems with internal data pipelines

• Help evaluate model outputs and reduce hallucinations

• Work closely with quant and engineering teams

• Document experiments and findings clearly

* Requirements

Must-have:

• Strong interest and passion in AI/LLMs/agents

• Has built real AI projects (GitHub or demo required)

• Comfortable with Python

• Familiar with at least some of the following:

  • OpenAI / Anthropic / LLM APIs

  • LangChain / LangGraph / agent frameworks

  • Prompt engineering

  • API integrations

  • Basic data handling

Nice to have (not required):

• Experience with financial data or trading

• Experience with vector databases

• Experience with workflow orchestration

• Experience with C++ or performance systems

• Experience deploying AI systems in production

• Duration: 6-12 months (flexible)

• Compensation: Competitive internship stipend
