True Global Ventures – Venture and Business Development Intern

Job Description
True Global Ventures is offering a part-time position for a gazelle - intern who can persevere through an accelerated and high pressure learning curve. The internship is from October 1st to end of January and might be prolonged into a full time position.
Roles and responsibilities:
You will be privileged with the rare opportunity to personally work with:

• Frank Desvignes, one of the founding partners of  True Global Ventures as well as the CEO of Axa Lab, 
• Dusan Stojanovic awarded Business Angel of the Year in Europe in 2013 after having three successful exits within a week an achievement unheard of previously in the world (including the US). He was also nominated as one of the top four angels in 2009 by the European Business Angel Network. Solid track record with 9 out of 18 investments fully or partly exited. 
• Other TGV founding partners across its 30 cities and in particular the founding partners in Singapore. Each partner has deep startup operating experience and successful exits themselves as entrepreneurs, as well as the investment expertise that comes from having completed prior to True Global Ventures a combined total of over 1000 angel investments which is on average 20 investments per partner.

True Global Ventures is a firm believer in nurturing talents and especially but not exclusively women who are quick learners with the grit to persevere under high pressure and uncertain situations. Working with the founding partners, you will be able to pick their minds on strategic outlook of technology trends particularly in Blockchain and be challenged to accelerate your future career options through this internship.

More specifically your job responsibilities include:

You will be in-charge-of co-organizing the Global Blockchain competition including sourcing startups for the competition, judges, speaking agenda, invitees, venue, VIP dinner, sponsors budget, basically from end-to-end.

The three most important parts are: 

• Signing up sponsors. Many of the sponsors have already participated in previous competitions.
• Sourcing startups by the 4 verticals
• Finding investor judges

a. Semi- Finals of Global Blockchain Competition: December 5
b. Finals in Singapore the week of January 14th or January 21st
Our last GBC on 13 March in Singapore saw almost 200 applications from blockchain startups around the world, 100 highly qualified international judges and 20 speakers. The objective is to redo a similar competition:

Through the GBC finals in Singapore, you will also be well connected to the local blockchain community.

Your other job responsibilities include:  

• Portfolio company management: Keeping track of all introductions, leads and statuses as well as other ad hoc support when required to help the portfolio companies.
• Database management: Managing and updating the database of TGV’s global network of > 5000 contacts
• Other administrative matters to assist in day-to-day operations 

There will be travel opportunities depending on your ability to travel as well. There will be as well chance to interact and network with C level executives. All travel will be paid by TGV.

Job Requirements:

- Based in Singapore
- Excellent academic results.
- Experience in Competition/Event Management role organizing events
- Deep interest in entrepreneurship and specifically Blockchain.
- Quick Learner
- Able to deal with ambiguity, and adaptable to non-structured situations and environments
