Job Description

As the Assistant Manager, Group Systems & Technology, you will assist the Assistant Director, Group Operations & Systems and primarily responsible for management and oversight of The Lo & Behold Group’s technology infrastructure and systems architecture. You will help the Group to achieve the vision of providing an integrated enterprise architecture in order to support the Group's business and growth plans. Ultimately, this enables all employees to experience a superior and effective technology eco-system.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Oversight and management of Technology and IT Systems that support Hospitality/F&B Operations

  • Evaluate existing systems and provide advice/recommend suitable solutions that meet organizational requirements
  • Assist in the technical aspects of software implementation, integration and maintenance, including for systems related to:
    • Operations
    • Marketing
    • Inventory control
    • Human resources
    • Accounting & finance
  • Ensure that the technical components of the IT/technology solutions, systems and programs to be implemented are in alignment with the business needs of the organization
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, subject matter experts (in Culinary, Service operations etc), solution and network architects to design and provide enterprise technology and IT solutions
  • Prepare proposals and cost estimation of designing and implementing technology and IT programs and systems
  • Deploy, maintain and secure technology and IT systems including: 
    • On and off-premise servers
    • Wi-Fi networks
    • Point-of-Sale (POS) systems
    • Desktop & laptop computers

2. Project Management

  • Oversee and project-manage from design through to implementation and ensure the timely completion of enterprise technology projects
  • Detect deviation from solution provider’s project plan and take corrective measures to bring the project on course
  • Test programs and software to ensure conformity to expectations
  • Educate and develop user-guides for employees on how to utilize programs and software in managing work duties

3. Group-wide IT Enterprise Infrastructure

  • Develop, implement and update best practices in the following areas: 
    • Group-wide IT policies
    • Service level agreements with our venues
    • Group IT budget including the design and execution of IT solutions
    • Strategic plan for IT
  • Analyze expected organizational impact of IS/IT systems and develop distributed system architecture and system integration
  • Work closely with network engineers and other IT professionals to choose compatible design solutions
  • Design and conduct hardware and software tests
  • Propose to senior management the project design, project costs, and expected benefit
  • Work with the Procurement team in securing and monitoring IT assets
  • Identify and address security threats, and ensure that information systems are secure from threat
  • Assist business managers in developing policies and guidelines regarding the design and implementation of IT within the enterprise
  • Organize the transfer of IT solutions and learning to business units and non-technical staff

Qualifications

  • Technical knowledge of systems such as Point-of-Sales (POS), inventory, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Time and Attendance, ERP etc. 
  • Academic background and/or professional qualifications in fields such as Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related
  • Sound knowledge of computer languages such as C++, Basic.Net, Java, and HTML, and in operating systems (e.g. Mac OS X, Novell Netware, Windows and Linux) and application servers
  • Prior experience in implementation of systems such as Oracle Micros preferred
  • High level of attention to detail with strong time and project management expertise; requirements gathering, issue resolution, schedule management and monitoring through to implementation 
  • Proven ability in designing and delivering an exceptional customer/guest journey and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and adept in managing external vendors and multiple stakeholders
  • Articulate; communicating well in both verbal and written form
  • Up-to-date with and adept in use of digital technologies and social media
  • Able to work well and effectively under pressure; managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Prior experience in Hospitality/F&B operations would be advantageous
