The group presently comprises of four education enterprises that provide consultancy and training services ranging from debate, Model United Nations, global citizenship education and more.

Based in Singapore, The Global Citizen has branch offices in Vietnam and China, and operations in a handful of Southeast Asian countries, where we work with students, schools, like-minded businesses, non-profit organizations and government affiliated agencies.

Job Description

This position is a paid full-position offered by The Global Citizen Education Group. As such, the candidate will be based in Singapore, but may travel to other countries if required.

The role of a programmes intern is to assist in programme and curriculum development and execution.

The ideal candidate should have a passion for co-curricular education and experience in the following fields, such as public speaking, debate, Model United Nations, global citizenship, leadership, or sustainability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development, refining and maintenance of programme curriculum and materials;
  • Assist in reviewing, evaluating, and reporting on company programmes;
  • Assist with daily administrative duties;
  • Manage and maintain strong communication channels with our students and parents, including those who we care for as guardians; 
  • Assisting the programmes team in lesson preparation and class planning;
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating student engagement activities;
  • Develop social impact education programs for the company’s target beneficiaries;
  • Provide logistical and operational support during company programmes and events;
  • Where required, assist in photography and videography operations during company programmes;
  • Where required, providing logistical and operational support for company programmes and events that take place outside of Singapore.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current enrolment in an undergraduate course in relevant field;
  • Preferably experience and passion for education;
  • Outstanding multitasking abilities;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong writing, editing and verbal communication in English and at least one other language, with a preference for Vietnamese, Mandarin Chinese and/ or Japanese.

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up team environment;
  • Ability to fly to regional markets for short work trips;
  • Professional and able to work independently;
  • Be self-motivated and energetic to learn a variety of knowledge and skills relevant to various projects, and demonstrate the ability to take initiative and ownership of projects; 
  • Possess strong interpersonal and communications skills; 
  • A strong grasp of the education market is also preferred;
  • Strong writing, editing and oral communication in English;
  • Ability to keep track of and manage multiple programmes consistently.

 

BENEFITS

  • Intern stipend of SGD $600 - $1,000.
  • In addition to the stipend, interns who travel on behalf of the company will have their flights, accommodation, visa application (if required) and travel insurance will be provided for. For example, if you are based in Ho Chi Minh City but need to travel to our office in Hanoi, such travel will be provided for
