The Chembridge Institution – Part-Time O-Level Chemistry Tutor

Most tutors teach a lesson and hope the homework gets done. At Chembridge, we run a system. Students learn from summarised notes, are tested, get marked properly, and go through their gaps one-to-one. This November and December, we’re running a holiday bootcamp for students moving from Sec 3 to Sec 4, and we’re looking for part-time tutors to teach it with us.

Part-Time O-Level Chemistry Tutor – Nov/Dec Holiday Bootcamp

What you’ll do

• Teach live online bootcamp sessions (2 hours each) using our summarised notes and compiled past-year exam questions
• Run and mark the weekly mock test to Cambridge examiner standard, with clear feedback on what was missing and why marks were lost
• Conduct 1-to-1 diagnostic calls with students and parents: go through the mock test, identify the student’s remaining gaps, and introduce the Chembridge programme for the new year
• Reply to parent and student messages within the same day during the bootcamp
• Other ad-hoc duties related to the bootcamp

Who we’re looking for

• A degree in Chemistry or a related field, or currently pursuing one. Fresh graduates are welcome.
• Strong O-Level Chemistry content knowledge
• The ability to explain hard concepts simply and confidently on camera
• Rigorous, consistent marking: you care about keywords, units and significant figures
• Warm, clear communication with parents
• Availability on weekday afternoons from November to mid-December
• A home setup with a laptop, webcam, microphone and stable internet
