Job Description of Microfluidic Engineer Interns 

Teora Pte Ltd is accepting online applications for the following internship position: 

  1. Programmer: to perform feedback loops programming of sorting, with device integration.

  1. Microfluidic Intern: to perform simulations of microfluidic sorting 

Key Responsibilities include


Programming Project:

  1. Perform a literature review to determine state-of-the-art technologies and the most efficient programming protocols. 

  1. Write and execute programs to read the signal, process, quantify the signal, use that signal to change the input parameters of the microfluidic system (flow rate, temperature etc.). 

  1. Identify device components to read the required signal, acquisition system, and to control/ interpret the output signal. 

  1. Improve/optimize the program to achieve high throughputs. 


  1. Simulations:

  1. Perform a literature review to determine state-of-the-art simulations and the parameters of investigations. 

  1. Determine the parameters range and experimental method of quantification of the results

  1. Develop and perform microfluidic sorting simulations under the guidance of mentors. 

  1. Develop an efficient design of the microfluidic chip for ultra-rapid droplet sorting from the simulations. 

Investigate the effect of viscosity, flow rates, force strength, and surface tension.


Required Qualifications: 

  • Students pursuing/completed a Bachelor's, Masters, and Doctorate degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software Engineering, ML, Materials or Chemical Engineering/Fields. 

  • Strong academic performance in core programs, communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving skills are essential. GPA 3.0 or above. 

  • Students need to demonstrate the required skillset by solving a set of questions. The most motivated and qualified students will be eligible for the paid internship.
