We're looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join us to work on our latest development, Tatsumeeko, a Fantasy Life-simulator RPG that blends social immersion with classic RPG elements, set in the expansive world of Ielia. We're breaking new ground by making Tatsumeeko accessible on both Discord and mobile platforms, merging social interaction with combat and adventure. Job Description

Requirements:
Availability from any time between April 2024 to Dec 2024
Minimum commitment period of 3-6 months

Software Engineer Intern Responsibilities

  • Assist in defining and achieving goals during each development cycle
  • Participate in continuous improvement and development of parts of the product such as server-side appliances and databases.
  • Collaborate with senior developers to ensure backend solutions are built with security, performance, and scalability in mind.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Develop, test, and release new features and game patches.
  • Develop pipelines to help the engineering team ship features faster.
  • Maintain, upgrade and iterate existing features.

You may be a good fit if you

  • Have some experience or are willing to learn about Linux and Unix Shell.
  • Have strong programming skills in TypeScript, Golang, or Rust.
  • Have knowledge of no-SQL and SQL databases like Redis, Postgres, and FoundationDB.
  • Have a strong interest in anime and mobile games.
  • Are able to understand robust system design and architecture
  • Have the urge to write clean code and build reusable modules/plugins.
  • Have the urge to document everything so you don't need to learn the same thing twice.
  • Possess good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Are able and willing to pick up new tools as required
  • Are driven to work independently and are self-motivated
  • Possess an incredible amount of passion for games and can easily effectively communicate your ideas.
