Company Profile

Since 1924, Sultan Maricar Frame Maker has protected what matters most — artwork, textiles, heirlooms, and memories. We don't just make frames. Every piece is assessed before anything is cut, and we apply the right materials and method for how long the piece needs to last. That's what four generations of craft looks like.

We work with everything from canvas prints and watercolours to scarves, oil paintings, and irreplaceable family heirlooms — using proper archival materials, custom shadow boxes, and techniques built to protect, not just display.

Job Description

Looking for a hands-on role where you'll actually learn a real trade, not just make coffee and file paperwork? This is it.

You'll join as an Apprentice Picture Framer, learning how a century-old family framing business runs from the ground up. Early tasks are non-machine (taping/sealing back panels, hanging hardware, carrying materials, shop upkeep, on-site deliveries/installations, supplier pickups, light customer support).

As you progress, you'll be introduced to workshop machinery (mat cutter, mitre saw, glass cutter, mounting press) under supervision, and take on more technical framing work: mounting, mat-cutting, glazing selection, shadow boxes, textile mounting.

We're looking for students, recent grads, or anyone wanting to learn a hands-on trade. No framing experience required, but you should be comfortable with physical work, careful with detail, reliable, and genuinely interested in craft rather than just a short placement.

Structure: Assessment Trial (between 3 to 10 days) before placement as apprentice/part-timer. Full-time considered after sustained performance. Hours run between 11am–7pm (min) to 11am–9pm (max), with 1-hour lunch and two tea breaks.

This role is open to Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

Pay Amount (based on performance, attitude and learning ability):

  • Assessment Trial (between 3 to 10 days): $10-$13/hour

  • Apprenticeship/part-timer: $13–20/hour
