Role Overview: Join The New Paper as a Social Media Producer Intern to gain hands-on experience in creating engaging digital content for our TikTok and Instagram platforms. You will help shape our voice, translating news and trends into compelling stories while engaging with our online community. This internship is open to polytechnic and university students interested in digital media and content production.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Content Creation

• Develop and produce daily video and static content for TikTok and Instagram

• Translate news stories and trends into engaging, digestible content

• Brainstorm creative content ideas to maximise audience engagement

• Collaborate with editorial teams to repurpose content for social media

• Film, edit, and package video content using editing software

• Design graphics and write captions for posts

2) Community Management

• Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and tip-offs

• Engage with relevant accounts and boost brand visibility

• Track trends and identify opportunities for timely content

Requirements:

• Passion for social media with a strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for storytelling

• Proficiency in video editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro) and graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator)

• Ability to work independently and in a team, in a fast-paced environment

• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn

• A portfolio of previous social media work is a plus
