The Job
What will you do?
With the goal of encouraging seniors to live healthy lifestyles and better manage their chronic conditions, we are trialling an in-home health monitoring station that is designed for senior citizens. The station features a weighing scale, blood pressure monitor, and tablet. As we add more seniors to the trial, we need to ensure that the seniors are not facing technical issues that are a fault of the system itself and continue to monitor and maintain the system’s health. Additionally, we need to further improve the system’s robustness and take care as we deploy new versions of the app and backend.
Our team of system engineers has built a bluetooth gateway app and backend to process and store data
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn how Bluetooth devices communicate with gateways (Android tablets)
- Familiarity with any remote monitoring tools or issue ticketing system
- Some understanding of dataflow within a microservice architecture
- Willingness to learn, document, and share learning experiences or discovered bugs with everyone on the team
- System Monitoring: Proactively monitor the health monitoring system's performance through the use of dashboards as well as to identify and address potential issues and prevent downtime and disruptions.
- Incident Management: Investigate and resolve technical issues reported by users or identified through monitoring, working to diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
- Troubleshooting: Respond to and manage incidents, outages, and emergencies promptly, coordinating with internal teams to minimise impact and ensure timely resolution.
- Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with development and quality assurance teams to identify areas for system enhancement, performance optimization, and user experience refinement.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of system configurations, processes, troubleshooting steps, and incident resolutions.
- Deployment and Maintenance: Assist in the deployment of system updates, patches, and new features, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to users.
- Technical Support: Provide technical support to end-users, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting problems, and offering guidance on system usage.
- Data Analysis: Analyse system performance data to identify trends, anticipate potential issues, and propose preventive measures or system enhancements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, quality assurance engineers, product managers, and customer support representatives to achieve operational excellence.
