The Job

We are looking for a Senior/QHSSE Specialist to join our Marine Products division.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Orientation / Induction – ensure QHSSE inductions are undertaken by all employees and details recorded.
  • Ensure all necessary QHSSE-related licenses are in place and renewed on time.
  • Act as Workplace Safety Health Officer (WSHO) for the site.
  • Be visible in operations to correct and support as needed to ensure a strong HSSE culture.
  • Identify best practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to raise safety awareness.
  • Plan and facilitate HSSE pieces of training, drills, and inspections.
  • Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits as per the regional audit program.
  • Report monthly QHSSE performance.
  • Post learnings monthly on safety bulletin boards to raise safety awareness and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Prepare and facilitate monthly safety committee meetings. Establish minutes of meetings on time.
  • Assist in following up on the Improvement Potentials.
  • Assist in incident investigations and preparation of reports.
  • Support the implementation of job safety risk assessments.
  • Ensure all risk assessments of all new or changed processes, and work functions are undertaken.
  • Maintain the overview of rules and regulations and coordinate their review for applicability.
  • Review incident reports and implement the mitigation plan for the respective parties involved.

Ideal Candidate

Skills Required:

  • Diploma or Degree in Workplace Safety & Health or similar discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of QHSSE working experience.
  • Certified in the Management of Hazardous Substances
  • Service-oriented and safety-minded approach.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Certified WSHO
  • Risk assessor and internal auditor for ISO 9001 and OHSAS 18001.
  • You are someone who will ensure that annual targets and deliverables for QHSSE are met.
  • You must monitor and follow up compliance with company and regulatory standards. Interrelations.
  • You will cooperate and work closely with the Regional QHSSE manager and team.
