Singapore River One (SRO) was incepted in 2012 as the Place Manager of the Singapore River precinct, which includes Boat Quay, Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay. It is the intent of SRO that the river is managed as one precinct – one destination – with specialized programs and service delivery methods utilized in each quay as needed, and as directed by the 4-year Pilot Business-Improvement District (BID) Business Plan.
Being a private sector-led partnership, SRO is a legally-established not-for-profit company focuses on making Singapore River the destination of choice for businesses and visitors. Dedicated to implement projects and initiatives, the organization engages stakeholders, understands the needs and wants of stakeholders, facilitates collaboration and consensus among the diverse mix of stakeholders along the River.
As the Place Manager of the Singapore River, SRO aims to create a more welcoming and vibrant place. These are executed through the delivery of activities and events, place-making initiatives and marketing and promotions of the Singapore River. SRO successfully initiated the pedestrianisation of Circular Road after understanding from the businesses how that will improve visitors’ experience. SRO leverages on resources from both the public and private sectors that are invested back to benefit stakeholders and ensure long-term viability and success. SRO is also the main organizer for Singapore River Festival (SRF) which is signature event held annually where the 3 quays are celebrated as 1 River.
Project Assistant (Place Management) reports to the Place Management Department and is responsible for:
- Assist with Place Management day-to-day operations
- Assist Place Management team in the management of projects/campaigns timelines
- Assist in the planning and execution of Place Management related-events, including and not limited to application of licenses, liaising with performers and planning of programmes.
- Assist in conducting of surveys for Place Management Initiatives, which also includes the collation and analysis of data collection.
- Assist in the organization of membership databases
- All other miscellaneous/ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Place Management team
- Working closely on other SRO team projects/events as and when required.
