Job Description

Job Overview: 

International Services (IS) and Humanitarian Engagement (HE) are 2 sections under the Global Engagement (GE) Department of the SIngapore Red Cross (SRC). IS focuses on the whole cycle of disaster response (relief, recovery, rebuilding and resilience building) to overseas communities affected by crises and disasters. Increasingly, IS is also expanding its capacity-building programmes to equip volunteers, disaster responders, National Societies and vulnerable communities with the necessary skills to prepare for a crisis or disaster. The Humanitarian Engagement Section aims to establish platforms to attract and engage young people and organisations to be involved in humanitarian activities both locally and internationally.

Responsibilities & Duties:

Disaster Response & Capacity-building

  • Assists in the coordination of overseas disaster response efforts

  • Engages project partners and monitors the progress of rebuilding projects

  • Provides support for capacity-building programmes 

  • Effectively manages volunteers and strategises ways to further engage volunteers

Humanitarian Engagement

  • Formulates a humanitarian programme that caters to young people and corporate organisations

  • Identifies and engages organisations that can potentially be part of SRC’s humanitarian programme

  • Provides support in engagement events such as the Innovation Challenge
