Job Description

Engineering Intern – Advanced Circular Polymer Processing

About the Project

Join A*STAR SIMTech to develop next-generation sustainable manufacturing technologies through advanced polymer processing, recycling and materials engineering. You will work on research projects focused on circular plastics, advanced manufacturing and engineering materials, contributing to real-world industrial innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Development

  • Support polymer processing and materials development.
  • Assist in designing and conducting laboratory experiments.
  • Prepare polymer materials and test specimens.

Materials Characterization

  • Perform mechanical, thermal and microscopic characterization.
  • Evaluate material performance and processing behaviour.
  • Support analysis of experimental results.

Data Analysis

  • Analyse and visualize experimental data.
  • Review technical literature and benchmark technologies.
  • Present findings through reports and presentations.

Requirements

Educational Background

Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in:

  • Materials Science & Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
  • Or related disciplines

Preferred Skills

  • Interest in advanced manufacturing and sustainable materials
  • Basic laboratory or engineering experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Bonus Skills

  • Experience with polymer processing or characterization
  • Programming (Python, MATLAB or similar)
  • Data analysis or visualization experience
