Company Profile

A boutique PR firm that offers marketing communications support, Red Bug serves clients from a variety of industries. We excel in the B2B marketing arena, and our core services include providing strategic PR consultation, delivering professional media relations support, as well as crafting well-written content for our clients’ marketing purposes. Our proven results across Asia-Pacific and the world have enabled our clients to communicate more effectively about their product and service offerings to the right audiences.

Why Red Bug?

We are a small, tight-knit team that values both independence and teamwork equally.

We work hard to play hard. Although we can’t offer you an onsite gym and free daily meals, we do go on frequent company outings, where we spend the day serving the community, eating out, and doing a fun activity (we’ve gone rock climbing, laser tagging, bowling, and even sung our hearts out at karaoke!).

Most importantly, everything you do at Red Bug matters to us. We’ll provide you with the knowledge and skills you’ll need for a career in PR.

Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, fun-loving intern to join our close-knit team.

We offer a learning environment where you’ll collaborate with everyone, and be recognised for the work that you do.

Here at Red Bug PR, we work hard and challenge ourselves to produce quality work. And with our expertise in B2B PR and marketing, we support clients from a variety of trade industries. In our line of work, we are often in contact with the media, and the meaningful relationships we’ve formed with them over the years are very important to us.

Internships are a great way to test out a career or an industry. Join us if you want to get a taste of life as a public relations professional!

Here are some things you might want to know about B2B PR:

  • Our campaigns are targeted towards business buyers, who are more discerning. They’re less influenced by feelings, and are less likely to purchase products based on first impressions.
  • B2B communication will challenge you, because business buyers are a tough bunch to reach and convince.
  • We identify unique benefits, rather than focus on price.
  • The size of the company doesn’t matter. We work with both big and small businesses that are making a making a mark in their respective industries.
  • Our overall goal is to offer our clients a true return on investment. We help our clients educate, win credibility, and build trust with their potential customers.

A glimpse into a typical day at Red Bug:

  • Gain exposure — Learn more about our general business functions and the various industries we serve, and an overview of our approach to PR and best practices.
  • General management — Assist managers in all areas of business functions, particularly projects and programme tasks.
  • Media relations — Pitch news angles and feature articles, and communicate effectively with the media. You will also assist in managing our media contact database.
  • Media monitoring — Collect clippings and create coverage reports for clients.
  • Research — Gather and analyse information involving media or industry-specific projects.
  • Written communications — Craft press releases and copy-edit marketing collateral.
  • PR counsel — Conceptualising PR campaigns and elements of programme contracts.
  • Trade show press support — Liase with trade show organisers and supporting media.

We pride ourselves on being flexible, but here are a few things we feel strongly about:

  • Interest in business, marketing, or communications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, and a good grasp of the Chinese language.
  • Keen interest in agency experience.
  • An eagerness to constantly learn and improve.
