The Muslimin Trust Fund Association (MTFA) was established on August 31, 1904, with the noble purpose of caring for the well-being of impoverished and disadvantaged Muslims in Singapore. Structured as a company limited by guarantee, MTFA is administered by a dedicated Council of Management comprising of passionate volunteers. Their collective efforts are devoted to uplifting the lives of the underprivileged within the Muslim community in Singapore.
Role Overview:
The Finance Executive is responsible for supporting the organisation’s financial operations, ensuring accurate accounting, timely reporting, and proper management of donations, payments, and financial records across MTFA and its related entities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Donations & Collections Management
Oversee counting and verification of donations for MTFA and Darul Ihsan, including weekly opening of safes
Bank in all collections promptly and accurately
Prepare summaries and journal entries for all collections
Manage and reconcile online donations (MTFA, Zakat, IKC)
Issue receipts for donations received via Credit Card and PayNow
Verify opening of drop-off envelopes for all collections
2. Accounts & Financial Operations
Assist in month-end closing, including preparation of journal entries
Perform bank reconciliations, particularly for Zakat accounts
Prepare Accounts Payable schedules (MTFA, Darul Ihsan, Zakat, IKC, Ihsan Casket)
Reconcile intercompany transactions and process reimbursements
Ensure all cash advances are properly tracked and settled
Maintain and update Residents’ Money Accounts
3. Payments & Disbursements
Prepare GIRO payments for Ihsan Aid (Fakir/Miskin, Riqab, Bursary) via UOB Infinity system
Process monthly GIRO deductions for donations (10th and 25th)
Process cheque payments and other disbursements
Prepare reimbursements and refunds, including patient transportation claims
4. Compliance & Documentation
Review and verify financial documents submitted via ApprovalMax across all entities (MTFA, DIO, IKC, Burial, Zakat)
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with internal controls and financial procedures
5. IKC (Ihsan Kidney Care) Financial Support
Process monthly patient invoice summaries
Handle claims submissions to MOH, MediClaim, and insurance companies
Issue monthly statements of accounts to patients
Prepare Accounts Receivable schedules
Process reimbursements for patients’ outstanding balances
Review all IKC-related financial transactions in ApprovalMax
Prepare journal entries for IKC bank transactions, prepayments, and fixed assets
Update reports for SZA Wakaf (Al-Taha Dispensary)
6. General Duties
Assist in financial reporting and audit preparation as required
Support continuous improvement of financial processes and systems
Undertake any other duties assigned by supervisory staff
Requirements
Minimum Diploma in Accounting, Accountancy, or a related field
Prior experience in accounting or finance is preferred, but candidates with no experience are welcome to apply
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
Familiarity with accounting systems and platforms (e.g., UOB Infinity, ApprovalMax, or similar) will be an advantage
Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team
Self-motivated, responsible, and willing to learn
