Job Description

We Offer

As a Stowage Planner, you will join a dynamic team of Shipping Operations professionals who are responsible for day to day stowage planning and coordination, vessel husbanding, clearance arrangement and delivery of ship spares, timely bunker replenishment, as well as coordinating and finalising vessels’ schedule with the Terminals; all with aim to ensure an efficient and cost effective operations process when vessels call Singapore. You will have the opportunity to work and communicate across geographical and cultural borders that will enable you to build a strong professional network.

Key Responsibilities

As Stowage Planner, your main responsibility is to manage stowage planning and coordination within the vessel operations function to finalise the discharging and loading plans with the terminal/s, which includes handling of vessel berth applications, Dangerous Goods (DG) applications and declarations to Port Authority. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Stowage coordination within Operations responsible for finalizing discharging and loading plans with the terminal, which includes handling of DG application and declaration to the Authority;
  • Submitting of Arrival Bayplan via EDI to PSA Terminal;
  • Submitting of Stowage Instruction to PSA Terminal;
  • Submitting Final Loading Forecast to Regional Central Planners;
  • Finalizing loading plan with Master / Chief Office onboard vessel;
  • Submitting Terminal Departure Report / Tug and Pilot Report / Vessel Performance Report and sending out Singapore Departure Bayplan to GVA;
  • Prepare Estimate Vessel Disbursement for Account Department;
  • Update Vessel Call Information (VCI) via MSC inhouse system;
  • Stowage Coordination with PSA / Central Planner and Vessel ;
  • Vessel Berth Application accordingly to vessel long term schedule;
  • Update Berthing status according to arrival notice from vessel;
  • Application of all dangerous cargo according to the Hazardous information received through the MDS system (Inhouse Hazardous System) and declaration to Port Authority;
  • Informing Inward Documentation on Direct Delivery of DG for local discharge;
  • Handle Dangerous Goods (DG) query from oversea agent’s on the restriction impose by the local Port Authority.

Qualifications

Who We Are Looking For

  • Minimum Diploma qualified, preferably in the field of Maritime or Logistic and Supply Chain;
  • Preferably about 5 years of relevant shipping experience
  • Knowledge of container/stowage planning
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Portnet
  • CASPS
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks that are more critical
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under stress and tight timelines
  • Meticulous and detail oriented
  • Strong communication skills, including excellent command in English, both written and verbal
