Job Description

This internship provides an opportunity to gain practical exposure to how investment decisions are supported by market intelligence, economic analysis, and industry research. Working with the Investment Department at Martin Boey Organisation, you will explore developments across global financial markets and examine how changes in the economy, industries, and businesses can influence investment opportunities.

You may be involved in reviewing economic indicators, studying company developments, comparing investment funds, tracking market sentiment, and identifying themes that could shape different asset classes.

What You May Work On:

Your projects may involve monitoring financial and economic developments, reviewing company and industry information, analysing investment funds, and researching emerging market themes. You will learn to organise information from different sources, identify relevant findings, and develop concise research materials for internal discussions.

You may also assist with the preparation of investment briefings, market commentary, presentation materials, research reports, and other materials used to communicate financial insights to advisers and stakeholders. Through these assignments, you will gain an understanding of how raw market information can be developed into structured investment analysis.

The internship may also involve exploring different areas of portfolio management, including asset allocation, diversification, investment objectives, risk considerations, and the evaluation of different investment solutions.

Industry Exposure:

The programme extends beyond research and analytical work. Depending on the opportunities available, interns may participate in investment-related seminars, fund manager presentations, fund house sessions, professional networking events, and industry discussions.

These experiences allow you to observe how professionals across the investment ecosystem assess markets, formulate investment views, evaluate products, and manage portfolios in different market environments.

Who This Internship Is For:

We are looking for individuals who are naturally curious about markets, businesses, economics, and investments. You should enjoy researching unfamiliar topics, comparing information, identifying patterns, and developing your own understanding of why financial markets behave the way they do.

Prior investment experience is not required. What matters is your willingness to learn, attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to communicate your findings clearly.

Learning Outcomes:

Throughout the internship, you will develop practical capabilities in financial research, market analysis, investment communication, and information evaluation. You will also gain a broader understanding of how investment research connects with portfolio management and the wider wealth management industry.
