Job Description

Summary

The role of a PR and Social Media Intern is to support the team in ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations across multiple accounts through impeccable execution of fundamental tasks for the agency and clients spanning public relations, social media, and integrated communications.

Scope of Work

Content development

  • Copywriting and draft press materials including but not limited to press release, fact sheet, media invite, media advisory, pitch notes, bios, photo captions.
  • Draft social media calendar/copy. 

Project planning and research

  • Contribute to developing proposals and implement PR and social media activities.
  • Research and develop compelling story angles.
  • Participate in brainstorm sessions and contribute ideas.
  • Carry out desktop research, e.g. competitive research, media audits, market intelligence to share with the team as required, e.g. for new business pitches. 

Media and influencer relations

  • Handle ad-hoc media or influencer requests.

Client servicing

  • Keep up to date on the latest news, industry movements, and competitors, developing the skill to seek out and identify proactive opportunities related to client business, including but not restricted to the current brief or programme.
  • Attend client meetings and prepare meeting minutes to capture discussions between client and agency.

Reporting

  • Daily media monitoring, if required by the client.
  • Monitor and clip coverage across print, broadcast, social platforms promptly. Provide timely coverage update to team and client.
  • Social media campaign reporting.

Administration

  • Identify and liaise with vendors as required, e.g. photographer, videographer, graphic designer, printer, exhibition, production house, and translation. 
  • Prepare press kits.
  • Coordinate media event RSVP, logistics and onsite hosting.
  • Coordinate media/influencer familiarisation trips, where required.
  • Support team with administrative and marketing tasks for the agency.
