Job Description

SCOPE

The Social Media Intern / Assistant (full or part-time) is responsible for planning and managing social media content and channels for key clients. This includes content strategy, content analysis, editorial planning, campaign ideation, execution of day-to-day tasks and reporting.

You are the face and the voice behind the brands you manage in the social realm.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in digital and social media strategy & planning
  • Own the monthly content plan and weekly editorial calendar for both brands
  • Create or suggest engaging and innovative ideas for digital and social media
  • Manage brand social media accounts – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Analyse, review and report on social media activities
  • Benchmark competitors to ensure we stay current with developing social strategies as well as stay abreast of best practices in social media

Job Requirements/ Experience/ Skills/ Education

  • Diploma holder or undergraduate in Communications, Journalism, Mass Communications, New Media, Marketing or equivalent
  • Content development, research and proofreading skills are essential
  • Experience managing social media channels
  • Intellectual curiosity and thirst for innovation in the social media realm
  • Understanding of digital, marketing and advertising concepts as well as data/statistics
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral
  • Team player
  • Meticulous and conscientious

The hired candidate may also be periodically assigned to assist the public relations team with research, writing and media outreach.
